Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors under the age of 16. Unless they have parental or guardian consent. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, in order to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without this permission, please contact us at info@giec.be and we will delete this information.

For what purpose and on what basis do we process personal data

GIEC N.V. processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To be able to call or e-mail you if this is necessary to carry out our services
  • GIEC N.V. analyses your behaviour on the website in order to improve the website
  • Recruitment and selection of new employees

How long we keep personal data

GIEC N.V. does not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We use the following retention periods for the following (categories) of personal data:

  • Data contact form: 1 year
  • Data application form: 1 year

Sharing personal data with third parties

GIEC N.V. only provides to third parties and only if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to keep track of how users use the website. The information thus obtained, including the address of your computer (IP address), is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to keep track of how our website is used, to provide us with reports about the website and to provide its advertisers with information about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so, or insofar as these third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence on this.

Use of cookies

We use cookies when offering electronic services. A cookie is a simple small file that is sent along with pages from this website and is stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer. This allows us, among other things, to combine different requests for pages on the website and to analyse user behaviour. Right of access, correction, deletion, limitation, objection and transferability

The customer has the right to inspect his personal data at all times and can correct them or have them corrected if they are incorrect or incomplete, have them removed, have their processing restricted and object to the processing of personal data concerning him, including profiling based on those provisions.

In addition, the customer has the right to obtain a copy (in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable form) of his personal data and to have the personal data forwarded to another company.

In order to exercise the aforementioned rights, the customer is asked to send an e-mail to the following e-mail address: info@giec.be. To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to enclose a copy of your proof of identity with the request. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, but within four weeks.

Direct marketing

The customer has the right to object, free of charge, to any processing of his personal data for direct marketing purposes. This can be done by sending an e-mail to info@giec.be or a letter to GIEC N.V. at Mosten 8, 9160 Lokeren.

How we secure personal data

GIEC nv takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact our customer service or via info@giec.be
