GIEC wins the Safety Award for Contractors 2025 at ArcelorMittal Ghent, one of the largest industrial sites in Flanders. This award is presented annually to a contractor that excels in safety.
GIEC’s strengths as a contractor for industrial electricity
Of the hundreds of contractors operating daily at the Ghent site, only two companies were nominated for this year’s prestigious award. GIEC emerged as the winner, thanks to the combination of our commitment to safety and teamwork.
The jury emphasized, among other things:
- Our excellent work preparation
- The proactive thinking on safety and execution
- The active follow-up of remarks on the work floor
- Our use of high-quality work material
- And our digital LMRA (Last Minute Risk Analysis), easily accessible and always up-to-date via a QR code on each helmet
Safety as a core value
This award underlines that safety at GIEC is more than an obligation. It is a core value that the entire team carries (out) every day.
This also proves our previous history with the Safety Award. In addition to our recent win, we took it home as a winner in 2007 and GIEC was nominated again in 2016. Time and time again a confirmation of the embedding of safe working in the DNA of #teamgiec.
